Stick Defenders is that one defense game you open “for five minutes” and suddenly it’s lunchtime again. Waves slam your base, coins pop everywhere, and your little stick squad tries not to fold. The best part? The merge system. Drag two of the same unit together to level them up, and boom—more range, more damage, way fewer panic moments when the boss horn blares.

How it plays
Each round throws mixed enemies at your wall—slow tanks, sprint goblins, and the occasional air unit that punishes lazy builds. You spend coins to buy units, place them on a grid, then merge duplicates to climb the tier ladder. Between waves, you tidy the board, upgrade your base (HP matters!), and unlock abilities like freezes or nukes that can bail you out when a spawn is nasty. It’s simple on paper, but smart merges and timing make or break a run.

Build smarter, not wider
Filling every tile early feels strong—but it actually clogs your merge path. Keep two empty spots for chain merges, aim for breakpoints (2→4→8→16…), and don’t overbuy weird one-offs that can’t combine. When speedy mobs appear, favor a couple of high-tier slows or splash units; for flyers, make sure you’ve got ranged coverage so they don’t hop the line.

Upgrades that matter
Boost base HP to survive spike waves, then push unit damage/fire rate so you delete swarms before they touch the wall. Save at least one clutch ability for bosses—popping a freeze right as a chain merge lands is chef’s kiss. If there’s a lucky spin or random drop between waves, use it right after a tidy board so new units slot cleanly.

Quick tips
• Scout the next wave. Adjust buys for flyers or rushers.
• Merge mid-wave only if safe. Don’t leave a hole in your line during a push.
• Center your highest tier. It reaches more lanes and stacks buffs better.
