Yohoho io is basically “last pirate standing” on a sunny island that totally isn’t safe. You spawn with a tiny sword, sprint for coins, and whack anything that moves (including barrels, sorry barrels). As you scoop coins, your pirate gets beefier and your swing hits harder—but bigger pirates move slower, so being chunky is powerful and risky at the same time.

How it plays
Move with mouse or touch and keep your distance until you’re ready to swing. Don’t spam hits—time them. A clean, late swing beats a panic slap. Break crates for bonus coins, kite enemies around palm trees, and always watch the edge of the island. When the danger zone closes in, funnel other pirates into tight spots and let them bonk each other while you third-party like a sneaky sea rat.

Easy upgrades, real decisions
Coins = power-ups and bigger blades. But chasing every stack is how you get deleted. Prioritize safe piles, then pick duels you can actually win. If a giga-pirate is lumbering after you, bait them through obstacles and double back—speed is your early-game superpower. When you’re swole late-game, protect space instead of chasing; make people run into your swing arc.

Tips I wish I knew sooner
1) Strafe the coin trails; don’t run straight or you’ll eat surprise swings.
2) Fight near cover. Trees and rocks mess up enemy paths and give you angle resets.
3) Peek, back off, then re-engage—most pirates whiff the first swipe. Punish that.
4) Endgame = patience. Guard the safe ground and let the zone do half the damage.

Why it’s addicting
Matches are quick, the skill ceiling is sneaky high, and the “one more run” brain worm is real. Even L’s are funny—nothing like two pirates bonking into the water together because someone got greedy.
