At first, Johnny Upgrade can’t sprint, can’t jump high, and his timer is basically a joke. That’s the point. You run tiny coin routes, buy an upgrade, push a little farther, and repeat until the whole level turns from “nope” to your personal playground. It’s the perfect loop for quick sessions: fail fast, get richer, get stronger, and suddenly you’re clearing gaps you used to fear.

How it plays
Controls are simple and tight: move with WASD/Arrows and jump with Space. Every coin matters because the shop is where the glow-up happens—more time to explore, extra speed for longer clears, higher jumps to snag risky routes, and later the firepower you’ll need for the end boss. Traps scale from baby spikes to moving lasers and turret zones, so your build and your movement both have to level up.

Why it’s addictive
Runs are short and satisfying. Grab a pocket of coins, cash out, feel the upgrade instantly, and go again. The map opens chunk by chunk—new platforms, new side rooms, faster lines—and the boss checks your entire setup. If your build flops, reroute for safer coin clusters, invest smarter, and come back meaner.

Try-hard tips
• Upgrade order that slaps: Time → Speed → Jump → Coin Gain → Offense. Survive first, profit second.
• Chunk the level. Set micro-goals like “reach the upper laser hall,” then reset and reinvest.
• Bank smart. Don’t chase sketchy coins without timer cushion—losing a haul is pain.
• Boss prep. Mobility wins. Being able to reposition between volleys = free damage windows.

Who should play?
If you love platformers that respect your time and reward clean routing, Johnny Upgrade is a no-brainer. It’s goofy, grindy in a good way, and the power spikes feel chunky—perfect “one more run” energy between classes.
